LearnOdyssey is a full-stack capstone project that reimagines personalized education through AI-generated learning pathways. Users create 'Odysseys'—self-directed learning journeys tailored to their goals and knowledge level—which Claude AI transforms into structured learning paths with sequential milestones covering foundational concepts through advanced topics. Each milestone includes AI-generated quiz questions to test comprehension with immediate feedback and unlimited retakes for mastery learning. Upon completing all milestones, users take a comprehensive final exam generated by Claude that validates deep understanding. Success leads to an automated certificate of completion. The platform includes a competitive leaderboard ranking users by odysseys completed, quizzes taken, and overall achievement score, fostering engagement through gamification. User authentication via JWT ensures secure access, and profiles allow learners to track their progress across multiple odysseys. Built with Next.js 16 and React 19 on the frontend for a responsive learning interface, Express.js with TypeScript on the backend for reliable API routing, PostgreSQL for persistent data storage, and the Anthropic Claude API for intelligent content generation. This team capstone demonstrates full-stack development, AI integration, and UX design for educational technology.
